  • Katie Gaskin-President

    Katie Gaskin is the President of the Board of Directors and the Founder of Anthony's Avengers DIPG Foundation. This foundation was established in honor of her 7 year old son, Anthony, who passed away from DIPG in 2017.

    Katie resides in Chicago with her husband Ruben, and Anthony's brothers, Luke and Daniel. Katie graduated Chicago State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and later received an endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist. Katie has worked as a teacher in Chicago Public Schools for 7 years.

    Katie also served on the Board of Directors for the Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation for 3 years and was the Founder and Director of Anthony's Avengers Defeat DIPG Foundation before branching off and establishing an independent entity.

  • Michael Gaskin-Secretary

    Michael (“Mike”) Gaskin is the Secretary of the Board of Directors and active member of Anthony's Avengers DIPG Foundation. Michael was the uncle and godfather to Anthony for whom this foundation was established in honor of after his passing in 2017. Michael hosted the annual “Reach for the Stars” fundraisers events, assisted with the social media content, and partnered with Katie on media/public relations activities.

    Michael resides in Oak Lawn, IL with his wife Chasity and daughter Teagan. Michael graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Michael is currently an Executive Director at JP Morgan where he’s worked for close to 19 years.

  • Dawn Richardson-Treasurer

    Dawn Richardson has worked alongside Katie Gaskin and the Anthony's Avengers Defeat DIPG Foundation since it was first established. Dawn is a major advocate for this cause and looks forward to all future endeavors.

    Dawn resides in Chicago with her husband Shane and ten year old son Jack. Jack first met Anthony in preschool where they became instant friends. Since 2017 Dawn and Jack have annually hosted events such as local lemonade stands and toy drives in honor of Anthony. All donations raised were donated to Anthony's Avengers Defeat DIPG Foundation and Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Year over year they have raised thousands of dollars in donations.

    Dawn attended Governors State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a concentration in mental health. Dawn is a Chicago police officer for over eight years and works within a diverse community in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. As a police officer she enjoys interacting with members of the neighborhood on many different levels.
